Avani TV Solutions
Ishwar Jha founded and built the world's first live TV streaming service for cars, delivering live channels and video on demand over 3G into vehicles across 25-plus Indian cities.
The challenge
Streaming live television into a moving car was, for years, considered impractical. The problem was not a screen. It was three hard problems at once.
First, the network. A car crosses cell towers constantly, so the stream has to hand off between towers without dropping. Second, the signal. Bandwidth over early 3G swung wildly, so the player had to hold a watchable picture through that variance. Third, the rights. No broadcaster had ever licensed content for an in-car delivery context, because none had existed. There was no playbook to copy and no prior product to benchmark against.
This was a category that had to be invented, not improved.

How we approached it
Ishwar Jha founded Avani TV Solutions and built the product end to end. It delivered live TV, video on demand, and video content into the car over a 3G connection, with content from broadcasters including Network18, STAR, Times Global Broadcasting, and ETV, alongside YouTube.
The build solved the three problems directly. It managed network handoff so the stream survived tower-to-tower movement. It buffered against variable 3G signal to keep playback watchable. And it secured content rights for a delivery context broadcasters had never licensed before, which meant negotiating the commercial framework as well as building the technology.
The product shipped as a complete kit for the car, a set-top box with an internet dongle and the connectors to the vehicle's screen, sold on a subscription. It rolled out to chauffeur-driven and premium vehicles across more than 25 Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, and Cochin.

Outcomes
Avani TV launched the world's first live TV streaming service for cars, a category with no prior market reference. The work was covered in the technology and media press of the time and featured on CNBC TV18's Young Turks as the first 3G-based service to stream live TV, on-demand movies, and video into vehicles.
For Appetals' media and entertainment positioning, Avani is the proof that matters. Ishwar founded and shipped a category-first media product. He has run the problem from the inside, not advised on it from the outside.
