MockRabbit
MockRabbit is Appetals' own AI product. It scores a candidate's spoken interview answers, the world's first app to do it, built years before talking to machines became normal.
The challenge
Most people practice interviews alone, with no real feedback. "Practice makes perfect" only helps if the practice tells you what to fix. And an interview is spoken, so the feedback has to read the spoken answer, not a typed one. That was hard to build when Appetals took it on.
How we approached it
Appetals built MockRabbit, a mock-interview app powered by NLP, AI, and ML. It runs mock interviews, scores the spoken answers, helps build a resume, and adds an AI-powered job board and career resources for software developers.
It was the first app in the world to score a spoken interview answer with AI.
Outcomes
MockRabbit shipped as a working product, an early proof of the AI-interviewing approach Appetals went on to extend into Stomper, its recruiter-side product. It is the clearest example of the house style: build ahead of the market, then bring the lesson back. The same instinct now powers Marg.
