From Request to Deliverable: The Marg Manual

The specialized team

When to call this team

Specialized is the bench of experts you need a few times a year and could never justify hiring full-time. Reach for it when:

  • A board meeting needs a real document, not a pasted chat transcript.
  • An enterprise prospect asks for your SOC 2 status and you go quiet.
  • You are hiring for a role nobody on the team has ever hired for.
  • Vendor invoices are piling up in a process that lives in one person's memory.
  • A workflow everyone runs by hand is overdue to be automated properly.

None of these is a daily need, which is exactly why they tend to get neglected until they are urgent. The team exists so the occasional expert job gets done well without a permanent hire attached to it.

Who shows up

The specialized orchestrator routes across a wide bench of domain experts and pulls the one the job calls for:

  • Document generator, which produces professional PDFs, decks, spreadsheets, and Word files programmatically.
  • Compliance auditor, who guides security and privacy certifications from controls through evidence.
  • Recruitment specialist, who runs talent acquisition end to end.
  • Accounts payable agent, who automates vendor payment workflows with a full audit trail.
  • Workflow architect, who designs explicit process specs with their failure paths named.
  • A supporting cast covering developer advocacy, cultural-inclusion review, sales-data extraction, custom tool building, and development pipelines.

Three worked examples

"Turn this analysis into a board document." The document generator takes the working material, a pricing study, a quarterly review, and renders it as a properly formatted document with structure, charts, and pagination. It arrives as a file, usually through Drive (chapter 25), ready to forward to a board without you reformatting a thing.

"Get us ready for SOC 2." The compliance auditor maps your current state against the certification's controls, returns the gap list in remediation order, and stands up the evidence-collection habits the auditors will ask for later. The months of vague dread become a checklist with owners, which is the difference between a certification that happens and one that keeps slipping.

"Hire our first product marketer." The recruitment specialist writes the role definition, the sourcing strategy, and a structured interview plan with scorecards, calibrated to your stage instead of lifted from a big-company template. You still run the interviews. What changes is that the process around them stops being improvised on the day.

What they need from you

The underlying material and the real constraint: the analysis behind the document, the certification a specific deal actually requires, the true budget for the role. Connecting Drive makes document delivery native, and connecting Stripe grounds any payment-workflow design in your actual money flows rather than a sketch of them.

Hand-offs

Specialized is the finishing layer for the whole workforce. Other teams send it work that has to become a formal artifact, and its own compliance findings flow back out, to support's operations (chapter 15) or advisory's governance work (chapter 9), so that a flagged gap becomes someone's owned task rather than a note in a report.
